THIS TIME, THE PEA SEEKS A PRINCESS
Every visitor to Nyhavn in Copenhagen is struck by the candy-coloured buildings that border the water’s edge.
They look as if they are on the page of a beautifully illustrated children’s story book. Which is quite appropriate because Nyhavn was twice the home of Denmark’s most famous - and prolific - children’s writer. Mention Hans Christian Andersen and everyone will be able to name one of his tales.
If not the Ugly Duckling or Emperor’s New Clothes, there are hundreds more, in one hundred and twenty-five languages. Leaving aside the Little Mermaid just down the city coastline from Nyhavn, Andersen has a street named after him in many Danish towns and cities, five charming little museums about his life in Odense and now a bike based on one of his best-known stories: The Princess and the Pea.
The Limited Edition AMS Pea sees our popular new step-through frame adopt two new, Nyhavn inspired colours. Both muted and subtle, in the Danish design tradition. Every bit as refined, responsive and effortless as the standard AMS but with a twist that will certainly turn heads. And made in Denmark, like all our bikes. So now, any urban princess can enjoy an even more distinctive ride on a Biomega.
